Fareha N. Malik, M.D.
Dr. Fareha N. Malik is a cognizant psychiatrist with an excellent principle in the practice of psychiatry; mindfulness and conscientiousness are ingrained in Dr. Malik’s constitution. As a mother of two, Dr. Malik understands that parents are the best advocate for their children, thus she works with parents cooperatively to establish optimal treatment. Dr. Malik’s extensive background, warm demeanor and an attentive ear are a perfect fit for patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, anxiety and bipolar, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic, post traumatic stress disorder, phobias, oppositional defiant disorder, childhood behavioral and psychiatric disorders. She respects and recognizes the uniqueness of each patient therefore tailoring the treatment according to each patient’s need.
Dr. Fareha N. Malik completed her internship at the Harvard Medical School South Shore Psychiatry Program. She then completed her residency in psychiatry at the University of Toledo Medical School, along with a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Toledo Medical School. Dr. Fareha N. Malik holds board certification in child and adolescent psychiatry and in general psychiatry and is one of the few psychiatrists in the northern Illinois area who have specialized training in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
Dr. Malik provides compassionate care to patients in the northwest suburban Chicago areas; she is also effective in treating her patients to make positive changes in their lives.
Amera M. Rahman, M.D.
Dr. Amera M. Rahman is a Child and Adolescent psychiatrist with an empathetic heart who believes that family-focus treatment is essential in achieving wellness. She treats patients as young as four years old as well as having expertise to treat adult patients. Her special interests are in areas of autism spectrum disorders which include Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Autism and Asperger Disorders. She also has interests and expertise in neurological disorders, ADHD, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, OCD, Tourette’s Dis and PTSD.
Dr. Amera M. Rahman’s credentials, observation skills, and her inclination to go above and beyond for her patients are the core values and qualities that make Dr. Rahman an exceptional psychiatrist. Forging strong relationships with her patients indicates her understanding that the doctor/patient relationship is not constant but dynamic and changes with each patient; her patients, in turn, respect her expert viewpoint.
Dr. Amera M. Rahman completed her general psychiatry residency at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. Dr. Rahman completed her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with special training in early childhood developmental disorders and neurological diagnoses at Tufts University in Boston. After completing her training in Boston, she worked as faculty at the University of Chicago where she was involved in teaching and training medical students while seeing patients as Attending Psychiatrist. Dr. Rahman is board certified in Psychiatry.
